Hands-on Saori Weaving Classes

Open EVERY Thursday (morning or full day) and Friday (morning or full day) both individual and group weaving sessions are available for you at Art Weaver SAORI Studio.  Monthly Saturday full day group sessions as advertised.

 

Create woven art for display or art cloth to make into accessories, garments or homewares.

The only limits are your imagination.

 

Morning & Afternoon Sessions

THURSDAY morning (10:30am – 1:30pm) or Full day session 10:30am - 4:30pm FRIDAY morning (10:30 - 1:30) or Full day session 10:30am - 4:30pm

Adults

Never seen a loom before or already an experienced weaver? Either way, Saori weaving is for everyone. Your way, your unique creative expression.

Teenagers

Students aged from 15 years can book for unaccompanied weaving sessions.

Children

Sessions are suitable for children aged from 7 years together with one accompanying adult (2 bookings required).

Come by yourself or bring a friend or two! (max group size 6 people). Private Group Sessions may be booked by arrangement.

All sessions must be pre-booked and confirmed via email.

    • 3 hrs
    • No experience needed
    • Plus materials cost at  25 cents per gram
    • $90 per person

  • Intensive Individual

    • 3 hrs
    • Warp making or Garment Design lesson
    • Plus materials cost at 25 cents per gram
    • $120 per person

  • Weekday Full Day - Casual

    • 6 hrs  (BYO lunch)
    • Available to new & experienced weavers
    • Materials charged at 25 cents per gram
    • $150 per person

  • Bring-A-Friend (weekday) 3 hr OR Full Day

    • 3hr morning OR full day
    • No experience needed
    • Plus materials cost at 25 cents per gram
    • $80 pp – 3 hr session / $120 pp – full day

  • Individual Class Package

    • 6 x 3 hrs per session (weekday Thurs or Friday)
    • Some prior experience required
    • Plus materials cost at 25 cents per gram
    • $420 prepaid    (save $120 !)

  • Gift Certificates

  • GIFT CERTIFICATES can be purchased in E:Card format or as a Printed Gift card.

    • Printed Gift Cards will be completed by hand and mailed directly to your recipient at no additional cost.
    • E:Cards have a range of designs to choose from with pre-set amount options or fully customisable.

  • I recently attended a WSS workshop with Heather Walters in her delightful studio in Kyneton. With one other participant Heather led us through the theory and practicalities of designing and sewing without using a pattern. What a revelation! Having experience in the more traditional methods, it was refreshing to learn how to approach sewing a garment with limited waste and utilising the features of the handwoven fabric. Heather is a generous tutor with many examples to share. With only two students it allowed a range of options to be discussed and time for practical work to be done. A great workshop and would benefit anyone considering designing and making garments from their handwoven fabric.
